How to design the anti-drip system for electric iron(With bimetal disc)

We’ll introduce how to design the anti-drip system with bimetal disc for steam iron in this article.
First of all, let’s know more about the structure of the key part for anti drip.

You could see the bimetal disc on the left side made by FSTB, it’s comprised by the a round bimetal material with a hole (In fact, you could customize the shape of bimetal to meet the size of your iron plate) and a handle, the material can be fixed by the screw, this material is also the core component of a bimetal thermostat. This material is compressed by two different types of metal with different temperature performance, when the temperature rise or reduce, the bimetal will open or close the tank valve.

When the temperature is too low, the tank valve is closed by the handle of bimetal disc. Water is only released to through the tank valve into the steam chamber if the soleplate temperature is high enough to evaporate all water.
For the appliance design engineers, the key points are to decide in what temperature to open the tank valve, and what temperature to close it, the distance between open position and close position of the handle. We can customize the shape or the diameter of the anti-drip disc, the length, the thickness or the width of the handle.
FSTB is always providing the complete temperature control solution for electric iron, we’re pleasure to share our experience for your designing.

With our producing experiences, we’ve been serving many appliance brands such as BSH, PHILIPS, and so on for many years.
